ALPLAhana, a joint venture (JV) between ALPLA and South Korea’s HANA Innovation, has announced the launch of its monomaterial dispenser pump featuring a down-lock function.
The new pump is entirely made of polypropylene (PP), including a plastic spring.
This stable and durable spring enables the pump to securely store contents in the down-lock position.
The technology, which is patented, reportedly offers logistical advantages and space-saving benefits on shelves.
ALPLAhana will present two standard versions of this down-lock dispenser, with outputs of 2ml and 4ml, available with either a smooth or ribbed-neck finish to fit standard closure sizes.
In addition, the JV allows for personalisation of the colour, head, and closure, as well as fine-tuning of the dispenser's output to meet specific customer needs.
ALPLAinject managing director Michael Feltes said: “Many multinational brand manufacturers want to make their portfolios more sustainable and environmentally friendly. We can now support them with our safe, affordable and sustainable dispenser solutions.”
As a system supplier, ALPLA provides additional organisational, logistical, and commercial value.
Customers can source both the bottle and pump from ALPLA, ensuring a seamlessly integrated solution.
ALPLA Business Pumps and Devices global head Sree Hari R Nair said: “Our solution strengthens the circular economy, saves material and increases recyclability. It does not require a metal spring, requires fewer components and some of them can also be made from post-consumer recycled material (PCR).”
The dispenser solution will be showcased at Beautyworld Middle East 2024 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from 28 to 30 October 2024.
Last month, ALPLA joined forces with zerooo, a sustainable packaging initiative, to introduce a reusable polyethylene terephthalate bottle for cosmetic products.
