ANDRITZ partners with PulPac to offer complete Dry Molded Fiber lines

PulPac’s DMF technology will combine with ANDRITZ’s expertise in forming, converting, and recycling technologies.

Andritz, an international technology group, has announced a strategic partnership with Dry Molded Fiber (DMF) technology provider PulPac.

The partners plan to combine their respective expertise to serve the alternative packaging market.

DMF is an eco-friendly, nearly waterless process that moulds cellulose fibres into various three-dimensional packaging products.

The partnership will leverage PulPac's proprietary technology alongside ANDRITZ's experience in turnkey pulp mills, web-forming processes, and converting and recycling technologies.

ANDRITZ will now offer complete DMF lines, enhancing its portfolio of sustainable solutions.

These lines are designed to produce recyclable and biodegradable products such as coffee lids and food trays, which are crucial in reducing single-use plastic consumption.

ANDRITZ Nonwoven & Textile division manager Andreas Lukas said: "This partnership with PulPac enables us to engineer economically viable and resource-saving solutions for Dry Molded Fiber products that contribute to the reduction of single-use plastics. This is perfectly in line with our commitment to driving the green transition.”

The latest partnership is an extension of the ongoing successful collaboration between the two companies.

The bodies have incorporated PulPac’s DMF technology with strategic components from ANDRITZ to several industrial lines, which are already operational.

PulPac COO Viktor Börjesson said: “Teaming up with ANDRITZ unlocks great potential by combining our innovative technology with ANDRITZ’s know-how and experience, especially in forming, converting and recycling technologies. We look forward to building on our partnership and continuing to scale sustainable packaging solutions together.”

Recently, PulPac announced a collaboration with PA Consulting and Optima to develop bespoke machinery for advanced DMF applications.
