Aptar, a manufacturer of dispensing closure solutions, has inaugurated its new Intelligent Production and Research & Development (R&D) Base in Suzhou, China.

This facility is set to become a high-tech, advanced manufacturing hub for the company in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

According to the company, the base consolidates eight separate and dated workshops into a single, modern site.

The new hub will cater to all of Aptar’s segments, enabling the company to improve its connection with customers in all Asian markets.

The site's opening event was a dual celebration, commemorating both the launch of the new facility and Aptar's 30th anniversary in Suzhou.

It was attended by Aptar president and CEO Stephan Tanda, as well as the company's executive committee and China team, alongside representatives from customers, suppliers, partners, and local government officials.

Aptar offers dosing, dispensing, and protection technologies across diverse markets such as skincare, pharmaceuticals, beauty, food and beverage, and others.

The company said that its solutions are particularly relevant to China’s growing middle class.

Aptar China president and vice-president and general manager for Pharma NEA Xin Yao said: “Aptar China will continue to focus on the needs of customers and consumers, and through innovation and sustainable development, help customers win the market by packaging and dispensing differentiated and high-quality products, and contribute to the better life and health of our consumers.”

Last month, Aptar Pharma, a division of AptarGroup, unveiled its plans for a significant capacity expansion at its Congers site in New York, US.
