The paper packaging is part of Atlantic’s commitment to eliminating single-use plastics.

US-based industrial packaging company Atlantic Packaging has launched the Fishbone C-Clip, a newer version of its can and bottle carrier product first released in 2020.

The Fishbone C-Clip is designed with a second carrier layer to support potential cases of lost tension or exposure to moisture while withstanding refrigerated conditions.

Made from paper instead of plastic, the packaging is part of Atlantic Packaging’s continued commitment to eliminating single-use plastics from the packaging supply chain. The UN's Environment Programme estimates that plastic debris kills more than 1m seabirds and 100,000 marine animals each year.

The Fishbone C-Clip comes in a variety of in-stock and customised options for banner display branding. In-stock design options are available for 4-packs and 6-packs which must be machine-applied.

Atlantic offers machinery such as its Snapper tool for manual applications, the BCF25 for semi-automatic applications and the BCF-100 for high-speed applications.

Atlantic Packaging president Wes Carter commented: “Traditional plastic ring beverage carriers have long been problematic for our natural world and contribute to direct entanglement or ingestion threats to land and water-based species. The Fishbone C-Clip provides a sustainable alternative and technical design.”

Major international beverage brands such as Corona, Coors, Budweiser and Labatt have worked to remove plastic from their carrier ring packaging.
