BL.INK launches connected packaging and personalisation platform

The platform aims for brands to deliver personalised, data-driven consumer experiences at scale through product packaging.

Enterprise link management provider BL.INK has launched a connected packaging and personalisation platform called BL.INK CXP (Consumer Xperience Platform).

The solution integrates Global Standards 1 (GS1), Digital Link and Digital Product Passports (DPP) which allow for additional data to be added to barcodes.

Used in both the physical and digital worlds, GS1 identification distinguishes products, logistics units, locations, assets, documents and relationships across supply chains for manufacturers and consumers.

BL.INK is supporting brands to make the transition from traditional barcodes to 2D barcodes under the Sunrise 2027 deadline.

Sunrise 2027 marks the industry-wide transition to GS1 Digital Links to enhance product information accessibility, supply chain transparency, and consumer engagement across all product types.

The integration of BL.INK CXP with variable data printing enables the generation of personalised QR codes for individual product packages. These QR codes link to mobile-ready microsites that provide real-time, tailored content and comprehensive product information that remain functional and relevant for up to 50 years.

BL.INK CEO Andy Meadows commented: "GS1 Digital Links present a significant opportunity for brands, but many of our clients find the process complex. We enable the creation of consumer-friendly mobile pages at scale, coupled with our enterprise link and QR management platform.”

Connected packaging is on the rise, with the recent Global Connected Packaging Summit highlighting the perceived value of data collection.

However, technological integration can be complex, requiring seamless compatibility with existing systems. Data management presents another significant hurdle in ensuring data security, accuracy and compliance with privacy regulations.
