Packaging machinery and services provider BOBST has announced the opening of its new research and development (R&D) and manufacturing site in South Korea.
This strategic move is set to enhance the company's global presence and its ability to serve customers in the Asia-Pacific region.
The new facility is located in the southern city of Busan in South Korea.
It is poised to produce machines for the corrugated board industry, including NOVAFFG and VISIONFFG, and will reintroduce the JUMBO for large-size applications, responding to increasing market demand.
The addition of the Busan site enables BOBST to provide optimised services to its customers not only in South Korea but also globally.
BOBST CEO Jean-Pascal Bobst said: “At BOBST, we pride ourselves in providing the best possible customer experience and part of that is ensured through proximity to our customers.
"The new site in South Korea marks a significant milestone for our company and underscores our dedicated effort to serve our customers across Asia, advancing our goal of positioning the group as a leader in this region."
The inauguration of the new site was attended by BOBST executives, including Jean-Pascal Bobst; business unit printing and converting head Alain Berger, and post-merger integration manager, Maxime Bobst.
In July this year, BOBST reported SFr828.2m ($933m) in sales in the first half (H1) of financial year 2024 (FY24), increasing 1.7% from SFr814.6m during H1 FY23.
