Boxshop, a Scotland-based corrugated box and packaging manufacturer, has recently invested in a new BOBST Expertflex NT flexo printing press.

The investment is aimed at enhancing the company's printing capabilities and adding new features to its business and group.

For more than three decades, Boxshop has been offering custom corrugated boxes and display packaging to various market sectors, including the packaging industry itself.

Boxshop has been a part of the Logson Group since 2016.

BOBST said that Expertflex NT's compact design allowed for smooth integration into Boxshop's facility.

The machine provides Boxshop with access to high-quality post-print operations and introduces improved graphic printing capabilities and no-crush feeding technology, which optimises feedstock use and maintains quality.

The BOBST-branded machine has significantly improved Boxshop's speed and efficiency, supported by an inspection system that guarantees reliability and repeatability.

The ability to interchange jobs between sites without affecting customer service was a crucial factor in the decision-making process of the machine, BOBST added.

Expertflex NT, capable of running up to six colours and operating at 11,000 sheets per hour, complements Boxshop's existing equipment.

Boxshop managing director Jennifer Riddell said: “Our business has evolved significantly, with multimillion-pound investments in machinery, training, our team and our processes. Through this, we have undergone a huge transformation to become one of the leading sheet plants in our category, with efficiency, performance and sustainability in focus.”

Recently, Turkey’s Yilpar chose two BOBST gravure printing presses to expand its flexible packaging operations.
