The German aluminium packaging industry, specifically manufacturers of tubes and aerosol cans, is navigating a complex landscape marked by regulatory challenges and shifting market dynamics.
According to the Tubes, Cans, and Impact Extruded Parts Association (FV-TDF) of Aluminium Deutschland, domestic deliveries of aluminium tubes and aerosol cans experienced a decline in the first half (H1) of 2024 compared to the previous year.

Despite these challenges, the FV-TDF remains optimistic about the industry's long-term prospects.
“Despite the decline in deliveries to Germany, our members report satisfactory and stable capacity utilisation in the first half of 2024. The decrease in national deliveries was offset by increased exports," said Clemens Behrenbruch, chair of the TDF Association.
"We are actively adapting to new regulatory requirements and engaging in legislative processes to continue supplying aluminium tubes and aerosol cans competitively across various markets."
