Speciality papers and tissue products manufacturer BiOrigin Specialty Products (BSP) has enhanced its production capabilities with the installation of a new Elite Cameron CS800 slitter rewinder.
The machine, installed at its Menominee, US, mill, is intended to increase the mill's slitting and rewinding capacity by twofold.
Menominee Mill manager Sherrill Mayton said: "We are very excited about our capabilities with the new Elite Cameron slitter/rewinder. The new technology improves our throughput, quality and safety and enables us to better serve our customers.”
Elite Cameron CS800 is designed with features such as a shaftless pick-up unwind and new photosensor light curtains to improve worker safety and minimise manual labour.
The machine is capable of running at speeds up to 1,500ft per minute and handling web widths up to 64in.
BSP president and CEO Wade Kemnitz said: "Our food packaging customers value the new quality, versatility and speed of our new Elite Cameron rewinder.
"We can efficiently slit various coated and uncoated papers into narrow widths and diameters up to 32in - with a quick response time."
The Menominee Mill is a key facility within BSP's network of six mills across the US and Canada.
It is a major producer of waxed papers for the food packaging industry.
BSP has a history of employing Cameron-branded equipment, which is regarded for its quality and reliability, across its other mills.
Elite Cameron technical sales engineer Matt Chamberland said: "We're very happy to see another successful installation at BiOrigin Specialty Products.
“The machine is an excellent solution for narrow-width slitting and can also handle heavy rolls with larger diameters."
