Cartorobica, an Italy-based corrugated board packaging producer, has significantly upgraded its printing and cutting capabilities with the installation of an automated production line from BOBST.

The new line, EXPERTLINE, integrates BOBST’s EXPERTFLEX post-print flexo press with its EXPERTCUT flatbed die-cutter.

EXPERTLINE has replaced an older die-cutting machine at the site, enabling Cartorobica to address market demands for rapid delivery of high-quality cardboard boxes and other corrugated products.

The new production line is expected to expand the potential and enhance the quality of Cartorobica's final products.

The line’s versatility makes it suitable for a broad spectrum of corrugated board products, including e-commerce solutions and packaging for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCGs), aligning with the company’s commitment to flexibility and reduced total cost of ownership.

It features a LOADER AF feeder, BREAKER 2 FLAT TRACK blank separator, and PALLETIZER system, which collectively automate the handling of corrugated boards and simplify the production process for operators.

Cartorobica president Carlo Taschetti said: “Today, the market is increasingly demanding. It requires speed in the delivery of goods, high quality, especially in printing, and competitive prices.

“Investing in new technologies is therefore imperative for optimising production and maintaining competitiveness. We decided to purchase the new EXPERTFLEX and EXPERTCUT line from BOBST to replace our old die-cutting line.”

Cartorobica, established in the early 1970s, operates a facility in Calcinate, Bergamo, employs 85 people, and boasts an annual production exceeding 60 million square metres.
