Global thermal packaging and digital solutions provider Cold Chain Technologies (CCT) has acquired Exeltainer for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition is set to strengthen CCT's global footprint and expand its portfolio of highly engineered products.

Founded in 2004, Exeltainer designs and manufactures single-use and reusable thermal packaging solutions for the biopharmaceutical markets.

The company is headquartered in Madrid, Spain, and has manufacturing facilities across the country, as well as in Brazil.

It serves blue-chip pharmaceutical customers across Europe and Central America.

Exeltainer represents the third add-on acquisition for CCT, following its partnership with private equity company Aurora Capital Partners.

Since entering this partnership in 2019, CCT has expanded its sustainable packaging solutions offerings, launched its new digital platform, and scaled up its global manufacturing and distribution capabilities.

Exeltainer founder and CEO Héctor Navarro said: "This exciting partnership will help accelerate our growth into new regions and further our development of innovative products.

"We admire CCT as a leader in the thermal packaging industry and believe it is the ideal partner for Exeltainer's next chapter of growth. We look forward to working with Ranjeet and his team to better serve our customers, our employees, and the entire life sciences community."
