A study by Eunomia Research & Consulting estimates that Chameleon Organic Coffee's carbon footprint of American-made glass bottles has been reduced by nearly 30% since switching to Ardagh glass bottles.
Chameleon Organic Coffee has recently shifted from Egyptian-supplied glass bottles to custom-designed glass bottles supplied by Ardagh Glass Packaging-North America (AGP-North America).
This collaboration marks a shift for Chameleon Coffee from imported glass bottles to locally produced ones for its 10oz Ready-to-Drink Cold-Brew Coffees and 32oz Cold-Brew Coffee Concentrates. The move supports its efforts in local sourcing and sustainable practices.
AGP-North America's product design team employed the Vision4GlassSM approach to enhance the design of the new glass bottles for Chameleon Coffee. They updated the bottle's shoulder decoration with a sculptured embossing process, modernising the overall look while maintaining functionality.
The use of Ardagh's glass bottles has cut transportation distances by more than 7,000 miles, which is a key factor in the reduced carbon emissions.
Chameleon’s parent company SYSTM Foods Operations senior vice-president Stewart Irving said: “Ardagh offers exceptional quality and consistency, enhanced sustainability with a shorter shipping distance, and proudly US-made products - all with significantly improved lead times.”
The partnership not only benefits the environment but also bolsters the US economy by supporting American jobs.
AGP-North America chief commercial officer Rashmi Markan said: “Ardagh Glass Packaging is committed to partnering with companies like Chameleon to understand their packaging needs and collaborate with them throughout the entire process.
“We are proud to deliver customised designs in high-quality, sustainable glass bottles that reflect the premium reputation of their brand.”
Last month, AGP-North America expanded its Peak bottle collection with the introduction of two new 12oz glass bottles.
