Conner Industries, a US-based industrial wood and packaging solutions company, has announced the acquisition of integrated packaging provider Guardian Packaging Industries.

The acquisition will allow Conner to expand its integrated packaging division within Texas, US.

This deal further marks Conner’s fourth investment to support the expansion of this integrated packaging division, which includes three plants in Tulsa in Oklahoma, Guthrie in Kentucky, and Lewisburg in Tennessee, US.

Conner CEO David Dixon said: “With 65,000ft² of indoor manufacturing space, Guardian Packaging serves as an ideal facility to broaden our integrated packaging offerings to both new and existing customers, in addition to expanding into military, defence and other new verticals.

“This acquisition exemplifies Conner’s commitment to providing customers with the ability to protect their goods throughout transportation and handling and is an important strategic development for us in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.”

The acquisition will also allow Conner to cater to large manufacturing customers by providing industrial packaging and military-standard non-metallic products, made using a variety of materials such as plastic, foam, wood, and corrugate.

Guardian holds AS9100D and ISO9001 certifications and recycles up to 35 tons of its materials every year to reinforce its environmental, social, and governance commitments.

The company specialises in foam cutting and providing integrated packaging solutions via its combination of wood, foam, and corrugate components.

It also has a Southwest Air Products segment, which focuses on the production of adhesive foam tapes that can be used in a wide range of applications.

Guardian's vice-president of operations Norm Stuart said: “Together, Conner and Guardian will continue to provide protective packaging, foam, and foam tape [to] customers with the highest standard of customer service while providing solutions that meet a demanding transportation and handling environment.”
