Industrial wood and packaging solutions provider Conner Industries has acquired a US-based custom wooden crate and pallet business, Denver Reel & Pallet.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

With a manufacturing facility based in Denver, Colorado, Denver Reel builds crates and pallets and integrates foam into its designs.

In addition, the company supplies highly customised industrial services to a wide range of manufacturing customers.

Denver Reel owns a total of 20,000ft² of manufacturing space and hires 30 employees.

Its facility is strategically located close to the I-70 motorway and only 4 miles from the I-25 motorway, making it ideal for customers in the Rocky Mountain region.

The acquisition represents Conner’s first investment in the Rocky Mountain industrial packaging market.

It is also the company’s second major investment since July this year and its third new manufacturing facility following the opening of a new plant in Guthrie, Kentucky, and the acquisition of Guardian Packaging.

It will strengthen the company’s integrated packaging footprint, leveraging wood, plastic, corrugate, and foam, as well as foam cutting and adhesive tapes.

The acquisition is also expected to expedite Conner’s long-term strategic plans.

Conner CEO David Dixon said: "The acquisition of Denver Reel & Pallet Company is an outstanding strategic development for Conner. The Denver location aligns our products and services with the needs of our customers in a rapidly evolving and demanding industrial packaging environment."

Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, US, Conner provides lumber, industrial wood crates and pallets, and integrated packaging solutions to its clients.
