Crown Holdings has completed the acquisition of Helvetia Packaging, a beverage can manufacturing facility in Saarlouis, a town in Germany’s Saarland.
The companies have not disclosed the financial details and other terms of this transaction.
Following the completion of this deal, Crown has now taken over the existing customer base and contracts of Helvetia.
Helvetia’s approximately 200 employees will also become a part of Crown.
According to Crown, the addition of Helvetia’s beverage can and end-manufacturing facility into its portfolio will allow it to expand its European beverage can platform into the German market and add approximately one billion units of production capacity per year.
This capacity will further help the company to address the increasing demand of its local and regional clients for infinitely recyclable aluminium beverage cans.
Crown announced Helvetia’s acquisition earlier in August this year.
The deal was finalised after the receipt of necessary approval from German antitrust authorities.
Helvetia produces three aluminium can products at its facility in Saarlouis.
The German company added these aluminium cans are suitable for various beverages’ packaging such as water, juice, and wine.
