Foodservice packaging manufacturer Dart Container has entered into a strategic partnership with PulPac, developer of Dry Molded Fiber (DMF) technology, to bring this innovative production method to the North American market.

Supported by PulPac's North American sales agent Seismic Solutions, Dart becomes a PulPac licensee and is installing the first PulPac Scala production line in the region.

PulPac's DMF manufacturing process uses significantly less water and energy than traditional fibre-forming methods.

The process not only reduces the carbon dioxide production footprint by up to 80% but is also up to ten times faster, offering an efficient and sustainable solution for packaging needs.

Dart fibre development senior vice-president Michael Bradley said: "Our investment in Dry Molded Fiber technology aligns with our ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability.

"Increasing our fibre production capabilities will enable Dart to offer our customers an even broader range of sustainable packaging options, including US-manufactured supply."

The collaboration with PulPac allows Dart to expand its product portfolio while meeting the increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.

PulPac CCO Sanna Fager said: “We are extremely proud to welcome Dart Container as a licensee.

“Dart's stellar reputation and commitment to innovation make them an ideal partner, and their investment in Dry Moulded Fiber is a strong endorsement of the value and potential of this technology.”

In May this year, PulPac announced a partnership with packaging prints and barrier solutions provider OptiPack.
