Mill Rock Capital portfolio company DRT Holdings has acquired US-based Custom Machining Corporation (CMC) for an undisclosed sum.

CMC offers high-speed, high-precision liner systems and parts for metal packaging applications that caters to the household products, food, beverage markets.

Established in 2002 by Terri and Allan Ross, the company supplies rotary end liner systems to the metal packaging industry across the world.

Its varied range of high-performance end liner systems are designed to accurately apply food-safe liquid compounds to metal end interiors at speeds of nearly 6,000 ends per minute.

Under the deal, CMC will become part of DRT's Metal Packaging Systems (DRT MPS) segment, widening MPS' offerings of systems and aftermarket parts for the global food and beverage can industry.

CMC and DRT MPS will leverage their respective technical expertise to boost innovation and customer support across manufacturing, assembly, and distribution facilities in North America and Europe.

DRT MPS developed an easy-open pull-top that is primarily used in food and beverage cans.

DRT MPS president Larry Churchwell said: “CMC is a highly complementary business to DRT MPS, and we are extremely excited to enhance the suite of solutions we provide to our respective customer bases.

“CMC is well respected for its quality, technical capability, and customer service, which we will continue to strengthen under the DRT banner.”
