Duni Group, a supplier of dining and food packaging solutions, has announced plans to develop a new warehouse hub in Meppen, Germany.
This move is aimed at bolstering the competitiveness and scalability of the group's logistics operations across Europe.
The facility will consolidate storage, distribution, and value-added services within a single location, marking a significant step in optimising the company's supply chain.
The new warehouse hub will be situated in an industrial site in Meppen, chosen for its suitable infrastructure and proximity to the existing facilities in Bramsche/Osnabruck.
Duni Group's vision is to develop a greenfield site into a warehouse and distribution centre, tailored to meet the company's specific needs and objectives.
Duni Group chief logistics and technology officer Johan Crusefalk said: "The new warehouse in Meppen will be transformational to Duni Group's logistics solution in Europe. The redesign of the warehouse will enhance competitiveness and scalability as well as contributing to our net-zero target."
The company will partner with CEVA Logistics, an end-to-end logistics company, to modernise the warehouse hub.
CEVA Logistics, with its extensive experience and presence in 170 countries, will also manage the distribution to and from the Meppen hub.
Financial details concerning restructuring costs and anticipated efficiency savings will be reflected in the group's pending financial statements.
The existing site in Bramsche/Osnabruck will retain its role as a crucial production hub for Duni Group, continuing to handle the full-pallet outbound logistics for all products manufactured there.
The new warehouse plans will not impact personnel in production or production logistics, and discussions with the local workers' council have commenced to address the transition for approximately 220 warehouse employees.
Distribution operations from the new Meppen warehouse hub are set to commence in 2026.
In April this year, Duni Group announced the acquisition of Australia-based reusable coffee cup brand, Huskee.
