Ecover, a leading innovator in washing and cleaning products, has announced the launch of its latest environmentally conscious product: Ecover Laundry Capsules.

With a 45-year history of driving sustainability in the cleaning industry, Ecover's newest offering not only provides effective cleaning solutions but also emphasises eco-friendly packaging.

Packaged in boxes made from 90% recycled cardboard and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, each box contains either 18 or 34 capsules, offering consumers a convenient and eco-friendly laundry solution.

In a demonstration of Ecover's commitment to sustainability, the capsules incorporate upcycled rose petals and apricots, repurposing waste materials to create two unique fragrances: Lilac and Rescued Rose (Bio) and Almond and Rescued Apricot (Non-Bio).

Free from dyes and optical brighteners, the cruelty-free capsules are Leaping Bunny-certified [an internationally recognised symbol guaranteeing consumers that no new animal tests were used in the development of any product displaying it] and have carbon neutral certification from Climate Impact Partners [a profit-with-purpose environmental and social impact firm funding and supporting carbon reduction projects] excluding the product use phase.

The capsule format eliminates the need for measuring and reduces the risk of detergent overdosing, minimising product wastage and environmental impact.

Ecover Laundry Capsules are designed to revolutionise how consumers approach laundry care.

Formulated with powerful enzymes, they deliver cleaning performance while actively caring for clothes, extending their lifespan and reducing the need for frequent replacements.

Available in both bio and non-bio variants, the capsules feature a concentrated formula with a minimum of 75% bio-based ingredients, ensuring optimal cleaning efficacy even at temperatures as low as 20 degrees Celsius.

A shift from conventional washing temperatures to cooler settings can reduce energy consumption by up to 62%.

An Ecover spokesperson highlighted the company's focus on providing sustainable solutions without compromising on performance:

“We’re excited to expand our laundry range to offer more choice and empower customers to live a less wasteful lifestyle without having to compromise on ingredients or efficacy, even at low temperatures.

“Adding a product that is carbon neutral certified, excluding product use phase, by Climate Impact Partners is an important milestone on our journey of continuing to reduce our impact on the planet and offer consumers alternative cleaning options.”

Ecover's Laundry Capsules complement their existing range of eco-friendly laundry products, including detergents, fabric softeners, and stain removers, all packaged with sustainability in mind.

The capsules are currently available for purchase on Ecover.com and Amazon, with plans for wider distribution.
