Fenton Packaging Solutions, based in Leeds, UK, has reached the 15-month mark following a management buyout and the relocation to its new 65,000ft² facility.

Over the past year, the company has continued to make significant investments in technology, staff, and sustainable packaging solutions.

A £1m ($1.30m) investment was made to streamline operations, upgrade its fleet, and enhance its overall efficiency.

Fenton has focused on sustainability by introducing innovative systems and software to improve customer service and reduce its carbon footprint.

The company is also in the midst of expanding its workforce, with recent hires contributing to its ongoing success.

New recruit strengthens north-east operations

One of the newest additions to the team is Lewis Branton, the north-east (UK) sales manager, who joined Fenton Packaging Solutions in July 2023 after completing his degree in Business Management.

As an office-based sales manager, Branton finds his role well-supported by the proximity of team members and access to information, which allows him to focus on customer engagement and business development in the region.

Branton noted that the business is forward-thinking, and his training has been comprehensive.

He is part of a young team working alongside experienced staff, some of whom have been with the company for more than two decades.

This mix of new and long-serving employees has created a dynamic work environment.

Focus on sustainability and service

A key focus for Branton has been guiding customers towards more sustainable packaging options, including the growing interest in bag-in-box solutions as companies seek to reduce plastic usage and waste.

Fenton Packaging has been discussing sustainability and recycling initiatives with both new and longstanding clients, positioning itself as a key player in the transition to greener packaging options.

Customers have also expressed high satisfaction with the company’s reliable service and delivery scheduling, which has been enhanced through route optimisation systems.

According to Branton, Fenton’s ability to solve problems quickly and offer a competitive package has helped secure new business throughout North East England.

Investments in workforce and technology

Fenton Packaging Solutions continues to invest in its staff, with a blend of experienced professionals and new hires helping to drive the company’s success.

Managing finance partner Sharon Dakin highlighted Branton’s quick adaptation to his role and the positive impact of combining fresh talent with longstanding team members.

Currently, Fenton employs around 40 full-time staff, and the company is looking to attract more young professionals.

This effort is supported by the recent investment in upgraded software systems, which are designed to improve business management and maintain Fenton’s reputation for exceptional service.
