Australia-based flexible packaging company Filton Packaging has acquired Australian Contour Packaging (ACP), a local flexible packaging contoured sleeves, and bag solutions provider.

The companies have not disclosed the financial details and other terms of this deal.

In a LinkedIn post, Filton Packaging said that the acquisition of ACP will allow it to expand its capabilities.

The deal will further help Filton Packaging to bolster its existing manufacturing capacity to produce bags, contour sleeves and printing work.

Meanwhile, ACP can leverage Filton’s extensive range of products and services to cater to the needs of its customers.

Owned and operated by Ryan Worthington and Lionel Filipin, Filton Packaging specialises in the production of flexible packaging films, bags, perforation and printing.

It caters to a wide range of industries, including grocery, foodservice, fresh produce, bakery and general packaging.

A report by Packaging News (PKN) quoted Worthington as saying: “Lionel and I, and the rest of the team, are excited about this opportunity and what it means for our combined customer base.

“We are seeing demand increase for our products, especially in the fresh produce space, and we are delighted that we can now expand our portfolio and increase our footprint in the Australian market.”

The strong sales force of ACP is projected to complement Filton’s technological expertise, Worthington told PKN.

Following this acquisition, Worthington confirmed that ACP’s team members will now become a part of Filton Packaging to ensure a “seamless transition”.

In addition, both the companies will continue to operate from their respective sites in Melbourne, Victoria, including ACP’s facility in Dandenong, and Filton’s plant in Hallam.

Worthington told PKN that ACP’s sites will operate under Filton Packaging’s name, with “possible integration of sites in the pipeline”.
