Italy-based packaging company Fiorini has recently bolstered its printing capabilities by introducing a state-of-the-art 10-colour BOBST EXPERT CI Flexo press to its operations.

Following the success of its existing 8-colour BOBST machine, the company has embraced this upgrade to meet the growing demand for high-quality, visually appealing packaging.

Giovanni Fiorini, President & CEO at Fiorini, shared his enthusiasm for the new investment, stating that it has enabled the company to “enter a new dimension” in printing.

According to Fiorini, the new press allows the firm to create designs that not only enhance its clients’ branding but also serve as an “appealing business card” for Fiorini's customers.

Highlighting Fiorini’s legacy in the paper packaging industry, which dates back to 1947, Giovanni Fiorini expressed pride in the company’s advancements.

“Today, thanks to the latest arrival in the printing department – the 10-colour BOBST EXPERT CI Flexo – Fiorini bags enhance the image of our customers’ brand with an even more incisive visual impact,” he stated.

With heightened demand for precision and visual appeal in the paper packaging market, the 10-colour press promises to deliver the detailed, multi-colour images that discerning customers seek.

Advancing with cutting-edge technology and collaboration

The BOBST EXPERT CI Flexo press brings more than just an aesthetic advantage.

Equipped with triLOCK technology, the machine reaches maximum production speeds of 600m/min, simplifying operations by reducing the need for manual locking.

Its advanced features include an automatic platform option that speeds up sleeve changeovers and the smartFLO inking system, designed for consistent, predictable results.

With these enhancements, Fiorini is well-positioned to meet the high standards of the modern packaging market.

The collaboration with BOBST, a prominent name in flexible packaging solutions, has added value beyond technology.

Alberto Vaglio-Laurin, Business Director for Flexible Packaging in Southern Europe at BOBST, remarked on the strong alignment between BOBST and Fiorini: “The meeting with Giovanni Fiorini was characterized by the immediate sharing of perspectives that we recognized as common to our companies: innovation and service as fundamental factors for success and continuity on the market.”

This partnership, he emphasised, reflects a shared commitment to not only innovation in printing but also sustainability in packaging solutions.

Sustainable and streamlined printing for the future

With sustainability at the forefront, Fiorini’s new press supports efficient production while reducing energy consumption.

The Full Surface Matrix intercolour drying capability in the BOBST press allows drying to be performed at lower temperatures, thus minimising energy use. This emphasis on resource efficiency aligns with Fiorini’s commitment to sustainable practices, a growing priority across the packaging sector.

Further enhancing its operations, Fiorini integrated the press with BOBST Connect, a cloud-based platform that consolidates data and digital services for a comprehensive view of the production process.

This technology empowers Fiorini to perform preventive maintenance, reducing downtime and avoiding costly errors. By harnessing this capability, Fiorini can respond proactively to operational needs, ensuring steady production and optimal performance.

This strategic investment in high-quality, sustainable printing technology allows Fiorini to continue delivering distinctive, impactful designs that capture the essence of its clients’ brands.
