Mexican label producer Flexopolis has acquired its second BOBST MASTER M5 flexographic press, following previous challenges with flexo technology.
This investment is expected to expand the company’s market presence through enhanced agility, sustainability, and the production of high-value-added products.
The 430mm-wide BOBST MASTER M5, featuring eight-colour UV flexo printing capability and the advanced PrintTutor system, has been credited for its ease of operation and print quality.
These features have been instrumental in Flexopolis' decision to continue investing in BOBST technology. The press' ability to work with multiple substrates and accommodate various inline accessories has broadened the range of applications Flexopolis can offer.
Flexopolis CEO Patrícia Ruiz said: “With the special features from BOBST, we can do coupon labels and we’re almost ready to start producing in-mold labels too. This is very interesting because Mexico is not yet as developed in this market.”
Flexopolis' prepress operators and printers have reportedly praised the MASTER M5 for facilitating faster job changes and more automated operations.
The company has also noted the responsive support from BOBST in addressing any printing challenges, further solidifying the partnership between the two entities.
Patrícia added: “We have very demanding customers, so the most important aspect for us is to deliver the best quality products, both in terms of register and colour. We also need better finishes and products that other companies can’t offer.
“Of all our machines, the BOBST MASTER M5 is the most productive by a significant margin, almost 30%. The simple truth is that it allows us to run very fast and deliver high-quality products.”
The environmental benefits of the MASTER M5 have also been a key factor in Flexopolis' investment. The press has contributed to a lower environmental footprint for the company, due to reductions in substrate and ink waste, energy consumption, and overall waste.
The optional PrintTutor system, which uses cameras to automatically control and correct print registration, has been pivotal in achieving these sustainability gains.
With the success of this latest investment, Flexopolis is already considering further investments with BOBST.
