Flint Group publishes whitepaper on safe food packaging

The whitepaper examines the legislative landscape governing FCMs to better inform the market.

Flint Group, a leading ink and coatings manufacturer, has released a whitepaper exploring the crucial role of narrow web inks and coatings in ensuring food packaging safety.

The whitepaper delves into the critical aspects of food packaging safety and testing, highlighting the challenges associated with food-contact materials (FCMs) and the essential role high-quality inks and coatings play in minimising migration risks.

"With the launch of our new whitepaper, we aim to provide enhanced clarity on the intricate process to safely print food packaging and labels," explained Anna Niewiadomska, marketing manager at FLINT Group Narrow Web.

“We explain the purpose and significance of these processes, discuss how safety is measured, and highlight how modern technology effectively addresses food packaging challenges.”

Furthermore, the whitepaper examines the legislative landscape governing FCMs, offering a deeper understanding of regulatory requirements from an ink and coating perspective.

“There’s no margin for error when it comes to consumer safety; therefore, we aim to build a stronger foundation of knowledge across the market,” emphasised Niewiadomska.

EkoCure ANCORA FCM ink solution

Beyond regulatory insights, the whitepaper also explores common sources of migration and introduces the EkoCure ANCORA ink range.

This UV LED FCM ink series, designed specifically for FCM label printing, combines dual-cure technology with food-compliant chemistry. This enables food-safe printing at high press speeds.
