Golden West Packaging, a custom packaging product manufacturer and paper recycler in the Western US, has been awarded a silver medal by EcoVadis for its sustainability practices.

The achievement places the company among the top 20% of businesses assessed by the global sustainability ratings provider.

Golden has been recognised for its comprehensive approach to sustainability, which includes reducing material usage through innovative design and using responsibly sourced materials.

As a major paper recycler in the Western US, the company exemplifies a full-circle commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

This rating benchmarks the company against peers across various industries, highlighting its performance in sustainable business practices.

Golden CEO Craig Reese said: “Receiving the EcoVadis Silver Medal recognition is a significant milestone for our company and a reflection of our steadfast commitment to sustainability.

“This achievement underscores our dedication to integrating eco-friendly and responsible practices into every facet of our business, from product design and development to supply chain management and our Golden West culture built on ethics and inclusion.

“We believe that accountability in our operations is not just good for the environment but also a crucial aspect of delivering value to our customers and partners."

The EcoVadis Medals Program awards companies that have undergone its assessment process and exhibit a robust management system addressing key sustainability criteria.

These criteria span four themes: Environment, Ethics, Labor & Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement.

In October last year, recycled paper manufacturer Saica Group also received a silver medal from EcoVadis.

Non-Alcoholic Beverages Packaging Industry Dynamics

In 2022, the soft drinks sector held the largest non-alcoholic beverages packaging market share, while the hot drinks sector is forecasted to register the fastest growth during 2022–27. Rigid plastics are usually a preferred choice in the non-alcoholic beverages industry because of their portability, convenience, and lightweight nature that facilitate on-the-go consumption.
