Greif, an industrial packaging product and service provider, has announced the opening of its new intermediate bulk container (IBC) manufacturing facility in Malaysia.
Located in Pasir Gudang, Johor, this development is set to enhance the company's production capabilities and contribute to the local economy through job creation.
IBCs are used in various industries, including food, chemicals, and fragrances.
The company’s commitment to quality is underscored by its International Organization for Standardization 9001:2015 certification, ensuring that the facility adheres to the highest standards.
Greif president and CEO Ole Rosgaard said: “We are excited to open our new facility in Pasir Gudang. This location was strategically chosen for its robust infrastructure and proximity to key customers, and our investment here amplifies our confidence in Johor's economic potential.
“I am pleased that this facility will not only enhance our production capabilities but also contribute to the region’s growth by creating new job opportunities.”
The Pasir Gudang facility is equipped with advanced manufacturing technologies, including blow moulding and cage line technologies, which align with Greif’s quality and sustainability standards.
Globally, Greif operates more than 250 facilities in 37 countries and employs over 14,000 people globally.
The company is known for offering a range of industrial packaging products and services, including steel, plastic, and fibre drums, IBCs, reconditioned containers, jerrycans, containerboard, corrugated sheets, uncoated and coated recycled paperboard, and speciality products.
In April this year, the company said that it finalised the construction of its new bulk corrugated manufacturing facility in Texas, US.
