The facility, valued at $100m, was inaugurated by regional general manager Darrin Hinds and plant general manager Cam Rushing. It is poised to have a positive impact on the local community by providing more than 100 manufacturing jobs.

International Paper's new Atglen facility specialises in the production of corrugated packaging, serving various industries, including produce, processed food, beverage, shipping, distribution and e-commerce.

Senior vice-president and chief commercial officer of International Paper, Tom Hamic, underscored the facility's significance in local job creation and customer service improvement, stating:

A collaborative effort for regional growth

The successful completion of this project resulted from cooperation between International Paper and local, county and state community partners. Atglen was chosen as the facility's location due to its access to a skilled workforce, versatile transportation options and convenient distribution access to key markets.

Cameron Rushing expressed appreciation for the collective dedication that made the project a reality, saying:

"Today, we acknowledge the hard work and dedication of numerous individuals. This endeavour was truly a team effort and we extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed to its success, including our Atglen team, colleagues from International Paper and community partners.

“We eagerly anticipate becoming a part of the local community and the success of the Atglen facility."
