Chemicals company Lubrizol has launched Sancure 20898 polyurethane dispersion, a new product in its portfolio of advanced resin technologies tailored for packaging coatings and durable inks.
Sancure 20898 is engineered to enhance the performance of coatings used in hot stamp foil (HSF) holographic packaging applications.
It forms a hard, flexible, clear film with high gloss upon drying. When crosslinked with polyziridines, it offers enhanced resistance to embossing, chemicals, and mechanical testing after stamping.
The product offers a blend of hardness and flexibility, which is crucial for high-quality finishes where aesthetics and durability are of utmost importance.
Lubrizol global marketing manager Miriam Peralta said: “This new polyurethane dispersion is engineered to withstand the harsh demands of embossing processes such as holographic foils and high-gloss metallic finishes, offering an ideal blend of durability and flexibility that helps designs maintain their integrity.
“The capabilities of Sancure 20898 make it an excellent choice for premium packaging applications.”
Sancure polyurethanes are water-borne dispersions that enhance the properties of a variety of substrates, including wood, plastics, metal, and textiles.
Sancure polyurethanes are recommended for protecting wood surfaces from environmental factors in applications such as flooring, furniture, and exterior applications, available as both one-component and two-component finishes. They offer long-lasting, durable, and beautiful finishes and can be blended with Carboset acrylic resins to meet various performance and cost needs.
In textiles, Sancure polyurethane dispersions offer a balance of physical, chemical, and processing characteristics for diverse fabric types, meeting the coating demands for apparel, upholstery, and other technical textiles.
For graphic arts and flexible packaging, Sancure provides high-quality adhesion and resistance properties, including heat sealability, chemical resistance, and abrasion resistance, with the option to further enhance performance by blending with Carboset acrylic resins.
Lubrizol offers dispersants, resins, wax additives, speciality additives, and colour dispersions for coatings, inks, and composites.
