Menasha Packaging, a retail-focused packaging and merchandising solutions provider, has announced a $70m investment to expand its operations in Richmond, Indiana, US.

The move is part of the company’s strategic initiative to modernise its US network.

With its headquarters in Neenah, Wisconsin, the company boasts a network of more than 50 facilities including design centres, manufacturing plants, contract packaging and fulfilment service centres across North America.

Currently, the company has two facilities in Richmond, which it plans to consolidate and expand as part of the capital investment.

Menasha Packaging president Mike Riegsecker said: "These investments position our Richmond facility as one of the premier producers of graphic packaging solutions in the United States, offering best-in-class corrugating, printing and converting technology.

"We are excited about the growth and expansion plans we have in Richmond, and what this means not only for our customers, but for our employees and the community of Richmond."

Menasha Packaging, a subsidiary of Menasha Corporation, specialises in designing, printing and producing high-end graphic packaging displays and merchandising products for both in-store and online retail environments.

The company's workforce comprises approximately 3,800 employees.

Last December, Menasha Packaging enhanced its production capabilities by acquiring two Highcon Beam 2 Digital Die Cutting systems for one of its North American packaging facilities.

The system is said to offer a cost-effective and efficient alternative to traditional die-making and setup processes.
