Mondi, a sustainable packaging and paper company, has completed a €90m ($95.3m) upgrade at its Mszczonów corrugated packaging plant near Warsaw in Poland.
This investment has doubled the plant's capacity, allowing it to become Poland’s largest corrugated solutions facility and one of the largest in Europe.
The plant's expansion forms part of the company’s broader €280m investment in its corrugated packaging operations located in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
The upgrade positions the plant to better serve manufacturers seeking sustainable packaging solutions with enhanced quality and service levels.
Mondi's manufacturing network in Poland includes six corrugated packaging plants located in Warsaw, Dorohusk, Szczecin, Simet, Świecie, and Bystrzyca, catering to both domestic and international markets.
The investment in the Mszczonów plant is complemented by the completion of a €95m investment in the Świecie containerboard mill last month.
This investment increased the mill's production capacity by 55,000 tonnes per annum while also bolstering its sustainability profile and product quality.
Mondi Corrugated Solutions Poland head Andrzej Archacki said: “Our customers rightly expect their business partners to be reliable, innovative and agile - we are passionate about meeting their needs every day.
"We understand the responsibility that comes with packaging the valuable items of our customers, making sure they are protected and offer a great unboxing experience.
"With this investment, we can now offer an even greater level of quality and service and our experienced team is truly excited about the benefits this will bring our customers.”
