Packaging manufacturer Novolex has announced the acquisition of US-headquartered manufacturer American Twisting's assets.
The financial details of the transaction have not been made public.
American Twisting specialises in manufacturing twisted-paper handles that are essential for the production of paper bags.
The family-owned business, with more than a century of operation, is headquartered in South Haven, Michigan, where it operates manufacturing facilities.
Post-acquisition, the company's eligible full-time employees are set to join the Novolex team.
Novolex chair and CEO Stan Bikulege said: "American Twisting is an excellent addition to our company, and we welcome their skilled and committed team to the Novolex family.
"I'm confident that our longstanding relationship with American Twisting and their steadfast commitment to safety will ensure a smooth integration into Novolex operations."
For more than three decades, American Twisting has been a key supplier to Novolex's Duro paper bag manufacturing operations.
This acquisition secures a continuous supply of twisted handles, a critical component in the production of bags for Novolex customers.
American Twisting co-owner Tom Phelps said: "We're excited to be joining the Novolex family, which we know well given our long history of doing business together.
"Novolex has a strong tradition of welcoming independent businesses into its operations, and I'm certain that the business will continue to provide superior-quality materials and prosper as part of Novolex."
Novolex supplies packaging products to multiple industries, including foodservice, delivery, and industrial.
The company, owned by global investment business Apollo, operates 56 manufacturing facilities in North America and Europe.
