Novolex, a manufacturer of packaging products for food industry, has introduced TamperFlag containers, its new clear containers designed to preserve food quality.
Developed by Waddington North America, a brand of Novolex, the rigid containers feature a distinctive tamper-evident flag that signals if the product has been unsealed.
Waddington North America senior vice president and general manager Sachin Shah said: "Our new TamperFlag containers deliver a fresh solution to safeguarding food and reassuring consumers about the security of a product.
"This is yet another groundbreaking innovation that truly makes a difference for our customers — something we strive for every day at Novolex."
The TamperFlag containers are designed such that they are activated automatically when the container's lid is closed.
Once the container is opened, the flag remains raised, providing a clear indication of any tampering.
According to Novolex, these containers can be produced with post-consumer recycled content, aligning with the sustainability goals of Novolex's customers.
Available in a range of sizes from eight to 32 ounces, the TamperFlag containers cater to a variety of food types, including both wet and dry grab-and-go snacks.
The container design eliminates the need for tear strips, shrink bands, and provides a smooth area for branding with customer labels.
Furthermore, the containers boast a leak-resistant design to maintain food freshness and are stackable for convenience.
In a move towards circularity, the containers are offered with 25% and 50% post-consumer recycled plastic content.
WC 7 October 2024, Novolex is presenting the TamperFlag containers at the National Association of Convenience Stores show in Las Vegas at Booth #4527.
In December 2023, Waddington North America introduced new recyclable containers comprising at least 10% post-consumer recycled content for food industries.
