US-based flexible packaging technology provider PAC Machinery has announced its plans to debut a new flow wrapper and other packaging equipment in September this year.

The company will launch the new packaging equipment and sustainable kerbside recyclable paper materials during the upcoming exhibition of PACK EXPO 2023, which will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada, US.

The event is scheduled to take place between 11 and 13 September and is sponsored by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute, an association for packaging and processing technologies.

PAC is planning to exhibit and introduce a wide range of equipment used for flexible packaging along with its automatic baggers, shrink wrappers, bag sealers, vacuum sealers and various other bags, materials, and sustainable packaging options.

This range of paper offerings from PAC also includes flow wrappers FW 650SI and FW450S, both of which use sustainable and recyclable paper.

FW 650SI+Labeler is a new servo-driven flow wrapper capable of handling delicate products at high speeds of 80 packages per minute.

PAC vice-president Greg Berguig said: “We are excited to show our FW 650SI servo box motion inverted flow wrapper that makes bags to product length at high speed (up to 80 cycles/minute) with our new kerbside, recyclable paper.

“This wrapper can accommodate products up to 12” [inches] wide or 8” high, can print directly on the package or on a label with the thermal transfer printer, and is ideal for apparel and other soft, delicate products packaged with a continuous motion in our new sustainable paper packaging.”

The existing FW450S, according to PAC, is a high-speed servo flow wrapper, which features human/machine interface control and a touch panel to provide easy control of changes for different types of products.

FW450S can perform at speeds of 250 packages per minute, resulting in reduced production time and minimum labour costs.
