The key global packaging industry events to attend in 2024

Packaging leaders’ calendars are set to be packed full in 2024 as industry events and expos have boomed.

Packaging industry events have evolved beyond straightforward exhibitions into exciting opportunities for networking across different subsections of the industry, including luxury, paper, and sustainable packaging.

All corners of the globe are welcoming top industry players to push the boundaries of what packaging can offer for both companies and consumers.

Packaging events in the Americas for 2024

WestPack (6-8 February) California - This event is split into five manufacturing sections, including packaging and plastics, and offers educational sessions and product demonstrations. 70 countries and almost 2000 exhibitors are expected to attend.

The Packaging Conference (12-14 February) Texas – this event presents leaders from across the packaging supply chain, such as CPGs, resin suppliers, technology providers, and manufacturers of equipment, labels, containers, and closures.

Greenbiz (12-14 February) Arizona – this sustainability event brings together sustainable professionals from major companies such as Coca Cola, Google, and McDonalds, and packaging is sure to be a hot topic of discussion.

Sustainability in Packaging US (6-8 March) Chicago – this conference invites players from across the packaging value chain, including raw material suppliers, packaging converters, retailers, brands, government agencies, NGOs, and academics.

Luxe Pack New York (8-9 May) – the premier event for the luxury packaging industry attracts experts from various industries such as cosmetics, perfumes, fashion, and other luxury goods.

Expo Pack Mexico (4-7 June) – advertised as the most comprehensive packaging and processing show in Latin America connecting end users with suppliers representing more than 40 vertical markets.

Packaging events in Asia and Africa for 2024

Propak Africa (March to October) – a programme of five exhibitions across the continent of Africa, including Kenya, Ghana, Cape Town. The agendas include conferences and technical workshops.

Luxe Pack Shanghai (10-11 April) – this edition will feature a new hall dedicated to the fragrance and scents market alongside its standard two day conference programme.

Propak Asia Bangkok (12-15 June) – this is the region’s key international trade event including eight industry zones of processing, packaging technology, drink technology, pharmaceutical technology, laboratory testing, packaging solutions, coding and labelling and logistics and warehousing.

Propak India (25-27 September) – located in Bengaluru, 16,500 packaging professionals are expected to attend over three days. The platform provides a plethora of information on market trends, investment opportunities and innovation in technology.

Packaging events in Europe for 2024

Paris Packaging Week (17-18 January) – held in Versailles, this festival covers innovation in beauty, premium drinks, luxury, and FCMG.

Pharmapack Paris (24-25 January) – this event is focused on pharmaceutical packaging, which is a key section of innovation within the wider packaging industry.

Packaging Innovations and Empack (21-22 February) Birmingham – from concept to production, this packaging event offers access to expert insights and suppliers.
