Previero, a mechanical recycling platform of Ambienta, has announced the acquisition of Italian mechanical sorting machines developer Parini.
This move strengthens Previero's position in the recycling industry, particularly in the mechanical sorting sector, which is crucial for high-quality recycling output and plant efficiency.
Parini's expertise in creating machinery for various waste types will complement Previero's preprocessing focus, aligning with Ambienta's sustainability investment strategy.
Parini, founded in 1985, produces a wide range of machinery that facilitates the separation of waste into different types such as rigid plastics and films.
This acquisition is poised to play a significant role in advancing plastic circularity.
With only a reported 15% of global plastic waste currently recycled, the partnership between Previero and Parini is timely, as recycling rates are expected to increase significantly by 2040 due to stricter regulations and brand commitments.
Parini's solutions support the conversion of post-consumer and industrial waste into secondary raw materials, leading to reductions in carbon dioxide emissions, energy savings, and decreased landfill usage.
The integration of Parini's technology into Previero's offerings will enhance the latter's technological capabilities throughout the recycling value chain.
Previero CEO Giuseppe di Carpegna said: "I am thrilled to welcome Parini, one of our most trusted partners with whom we have cultivated a longstanding relationship. We greatly value Parini’s exceptional technical expertise.
“This acquisition allows us to expand into the highly attractive sorting sector, further enhancing our turnkey solutions. It aligns perfectly with our top priority: delivering world-class, end-to-end solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs of our customers.”
