ProAmpac, a flexible packaging and material science company, has unveiled its new kerbside recyclable insulated bag for the food and grocery delivery industry.
The patent pending ProActive Recyclable FiberCool bag surpasses the traditional Self-Opening Sack by providing a recyclable solution with better temperature retention.
The launch of FiberCool represents ProAmpac's commitment to innovation and sustainability, establishing a benchmark for recyclable packaging in the food and grocery delivery market.
FiberCool's combination of insulation, user-friendliness, and environmental advantages not only improves delivery performance but also meets the increasing demand for eco-friendly packaging options.
ProAmpac Fiber Division president Chad Murdock said: "The paper bag has not had much innovation over the past few decades; ProAmpac set out to change that.
“FiberCool is a pioneering one-piece design that enhances insulation properties, eliminates assembly time, saves storage space, and reduces materials and costs. Plus, it has been prequalified for kerbside recyclability.”
ProActive Recyclable FiberCool is claimed to be a more sustainable option compared to conventional multimaterial and multistep insulated packaging, offering brands an enhanced appearance with high-definition print quality.
The bag is available in various sizes and can feature variable QR codes to meet specific retailer requirements.
ProAmpac sustainable paper packaging global innovation manager Ray Recchia said: “When subjected to a rigorous testing protocol, depending on the products, FiberCool outperforms a standard paper bag by demonstrating temperature retention by as much as 30%.
“This improved thermal performance reduces food spoilage and waste, while also reducing packaging weight compared to traditional multipart thermal bag packaging.”
In March this year, ProAmpac announced the acquisition of North American recycled kraft paper producer UP Paper.
