ProMach, a global processing and packaging machinery solutions, has acquired Mexican pressure-sensitive and radio-frequency identification (RFID) labels producer Etiflex.

This strategic move marks ProMach's first foray into the Mexican market and bolsters its labelling and coding capabilities across North America.

Headquartered in Mexico City, Etiflex is one of the largest converters for variable information-printed labels, tickets, and RFID labelling.

The company supplies label-converting solutions to various industries, including food and beverage, automotive, pharmaceutical, and personal care, among others.

In addition, Etiflex produces tickets, badges, and bracelets for events and transportation.

The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.

ProMach president and CEO Mark Anderson said: “We are pleased to welcome the Etiflex team to ProMach. Their addition to our business continues the expansion of our label-converting capabilities, and it significantly extends our ability to offer a complete portfolio of labelling equipment solutions beyond our existing markets in the United States and Canada.

“This acquisition truly supports our commitment to provide best-in-class labelling and coding solutions and support from a partner that is geographically close to our customers, wherever they are located throughout North America.”

Following the acquisition, Etiflex and its more than 500 staff will become part of ProMach's Labeling & Coding business line, under the leadership of group president Alan Shipman.

The business line includes major brands such as ID Technology, EPI, Panther, Code Tech, and Greydon, offering a wide range of solutions to North American customers.

ProMach's vertically integrated product portfolio, which spans labels and machinery, is supported by 17 regional sales and service offices, along with eight label-converting facilities.

These facilities provide a variety of labels, from decorative high-volume or short-run labels using flexographic and digital capabilities to blank and shell labels, RFID labels, speciality labels, and more.

Etiflex's leadership will remain intact, with co-director generals Sergio Shor and Ari Vonderwalde continuing to lead the team post-transaction.

Shor will serve as VP and general manager while Vonderwalde will become VP of operations.
