RECOUP’s Plastics Resource and Recycling Awards shortlist announced

The Plastics Resource and Recycling Conference focuses on fostering knowledge exchange and networking.

RECOUP, an independent authority on plastics and recycling, has announced the shortlist for its Plastics Resource and Recycling Awards.

Drawing an audience of approximately 500 delegates annually, conference attendees range from NGOs to local and national governmental bodies. This also includes participation from organisations spanning the plastics and broader sustainability value chain.

Held in Peterborough, the pre-conference dinner is scheduled for 27 September and the ceremony is set to take place on 28 September 2023.

RECOUP’s latest project ‘Bottle to Bottle’ has seen bottles from supermarkets Co-op, Aldi, and Ocado marked with UV 2D tags before being recycled to provide packaging life cycle data.

Global food packaging industry witnessing an uptick in demand for personalized packaging

In 2022, flexible packaging was the most used pack material, followed by rigid plastics. Dairy & soy food was the leading sector, while prepared meals sector is forecast to register the fastest growth during 2022–27, per GlobalData. The demand for eco-friendly packaging is on the rise, stimulated by consumers’ increasing focus on sustainability. Personalized packaging is becoming popular as consumers appreciate products tailored to their needs or preferences.
