UK-based Redsmith Distillery has introduced a line of gin bottles made from 100% recycled glass.
These bottles are said to be 20% lighter than the distillery's previous packaging and require less energy throughout the manufacturing, handling, and shipping processes.
Additionally, the recycled nature of the bottles helps minimise their environmental impact.
Each bottle features a natural cork stopper topped with wood and is sealed using a recyclable shrink closure.
Redsmith says that the bottle's ‘greenish-blue’ colour, resulting from recycling, coupled with its short choker neck and ‘occasional bubbles or other perfect imperfections’, add a touch of ‘rustic charm.’
According to the company, the shift to this new packaging solution has also led to a total revamp of the brand.
Its in-house team has redesigned the product's label, featuring the stylised Redsmith R logo prominently on the front.
The main still of Redsmith, known as 'Jenny,' is showcased in a line drawing on the reverse side of the label.
The bottle pack features a small depiction of the original Redsmith bottle, showcasing the company's roots in Ruddington, England, dating back to May 2016.
Every label displays a handwritten batch and bottle number, along with the distiller's signature.
Based in Nottingham, the distillery’s portfolio includes Redsmith London Dry Gin 70cl, Redsmith Dry Apple Gin 70cl, Redsmith Orange and White Tea Gin 70cl, and Redsmith Sloe Gin 70cl.
It also provides Redsmith Licorice Old Tom Gin 70cl, Redsmith Very Berry Old Tom Gin 70cl, and Redsmith Rose Old Tom Gin 70cl.
