Reproflex3 partners to support BoxWay’s growth

The provided Vortex technology will be used to enhance print quality, reduce dot gain, and optimise ink coverage for Boxway.

UK-based flexographic prepress solutions provider Reproflex3 has entered into a new collaboration with BoxWay Packaging Group, an independent flexographic and digital print corrugated packaging company.

As part of this partnership, Reproflex3 will support BoxWay's transition into a 'premier' company in the corrugated packaging sector.

BoxWay will leverage Reproflex3’s expertise and flexographic technologies to boost its capabilities and enhance business offerings for its customers by adding more colours and the ability to print on more sophisticated substrates and coated materials.

BoxWay will adopt Reproflex3's corrugated screening technology, called Vortex.

Vortex is used for enhancing print quality, reducing dot gain and optimising ink coverage, which helps in creating consistent packaging designs to equally cater to small and larger volumes of production.

Once deployed, Vortex will allow BoxWay to maintain higher volume anilox rolls while also achieving fine halftone reproduction with plate screens 30% higher than before.

Reproflex3 Corrugated technical sales director Mark Vaus said: “The prepress offering to the corrugated industry has stagnated in the last decade which is never a good thing.

“Through the implementation of Vortex, along with our training and development support, we are confident that BoxWay Packaging Group will achieve their goals and surpass expectations in the UK corrugated packaging industry.”

BoxWay specialises in providing high-quality packaging solutions for fast-moving consumer goods brands, online retailers, manufacturers, as well as national food and drink producers.

Currently, it has sites in Devon and County Durham within the UK, where it has launched a two-year strategic investment programme to boost its production capacity and expand capabilities in the market.

The company has invested more than £1m at its Peterlee facility in County Durham to install a new Weipong five-colour Rotary Die Cut Flexographic Printer.

BoxWay CEO Andrew Woollard said: “Reproflex3 was an extremely easy choice for the business.

“With the application of Vortex and the training provided, we are confident that we can elevate our business and provide our clients with even more exceptional packaging solutions.”

Asia Pacific Renewable Energy Policy 2023 Analysis

Countries in the APAC region should look to invest on upgrading grid infrastructure, energy storage systems, microgrids, and support mechanism for renewables to be able to achieve their climate goals. The growth trajectory of Europe cannot be implied in APAC since several countries were late entrants into the renewable market. APAC countries should look to weave their own roadmap towards achieving net zero emissions and leverage the large population into adopting renewable technology.
