US-based environmental, social, and corporate governance material solutions provider Revolution Sustainable Solutions has acquired PolyAg Recycling, a mechanical recycler of agricultural films in Canada.
This acquisition is seen as a significant step in Revolution's commitment to scale up its recycling capacity and extend its circular solutions throughout North America.
PolyAg, located in Bashaw, Alberta, began operations in 2019, providing a solution to recycle used agriculture film locally.
With the Extended Producer Responsibility Regulation in effect in Alberta since 2022, recyclers such as PolyAg have become integral to innovative waste management programmes that aim to increase recycling and circularity in the agricultural market.
This partnership is in line with Revolution's strategic growth objectives, including the company's recent investment in new blown film lines in Little Rock, Arkansas, US, to produce speciality agricultural films.
As Revolution continues to penetrate the agricultural market, PolyAg's recycling capabilities present significant opportunities to better serve customers in both the US and Canadian markets.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Revolution CEO Sean Whiteley said: "We are excited about the possibilities that this acquisition brings to Revolution and our valued stakeholders.
"PolyAg has built an impressive business in a relatively short period of time, and by combining our strengths and expertise, we are well-positioned to deliver even more impactful sustainable solutions to our customers in the US and Canada."
Revolution says it is dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition for PolyAg and its workforce.
