Specialised Packaging Group (SPG) has successfully acquired Complete Packaging, a leading provider of custom-designed packaging solutions based in Michigan, US. 

SPG is a vertically integrated provider of protective packaging products, operating under divisions IVEX, Packaging Concepts & Design (PCD) and ProtecPac.

Complete Packaging specialises in highly engineered multi-substrate protective packaging solutions serving Midwest US industries, including automotive, energy, aerospace and defence.

This strategic move bolsters SPG's position as one of North America's largest independent protective packaging manufacturers. 

Enhancing capabilities and footprint

SPG, a portfolio company of Altamont Capital Partners, aims to strengthen its engineered packaging offerings and geographic reach through this acquisition. 

With Complete Packaging joining the SPG family, the company's workforce has grown by approximately 90 employees, now totalling 1,600. 

The acquisition aligns with SPG's commitment to providing high-quality packaging solutions. 

Strategic integration and market presence

CEO Paul Budsworth expressed excitement about the enhanced capabilities, stating: "The addition of Complete Packaging to our rapidly expanding team means we will be adding industry-leading custom engineered packaging capabilities to an operation that is already world class.”

SPG anticipates reinforcing its presence in Detroit and the Midwest markets, enabling better customer service. 

Complete Packaging's president and CEO Gregg Reau highlighted the partnership's growth potential: "With SPG, we have found a partner that shares our vision and has the resources to accelerate our growth plans in new and existing markets."
