SN Maschinenbau is set to introduce a new complete packaging concept for recyclable spouted pouches at Anuga FoodTec 2024 in Cologne, Germany.
The new complete packaging solution, which includes recyclable film, spouts, and a packaging machine, was developed in partnership with SÜDPACK and Menshen.
The solution, suitable for hotfilling and pasteurisation, comes after SÜDPACK and SN Maschinenbau entered into a developmental partnership last November.
The new packaging concept utilises polypropylene (PP)-based high-performance films from SÜDPACK's Pure-Line product family, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional materials.
These films are recyclable, resource-efficient, and provide maximum product protection.
The recyclable films ensure minimal resource use while delivering optimal pouch stability, lightweight packaging, and an improved carbon footprint.
The PP spouts with Menshen LoTUS technology are designed to connect seamlessly to the pouches, saving energy and guaranteeing a cost-effective and failsafe production process.
Furthermore, the film's wide processing window allows for secure spout sealing, ensuring maximum tightness and burst-pressure resistance.
For additional product protection, the film can be customised with barriers against water vapour, oxygen, or UV light.
SÜDPACK’s recyclable PP film and Menshen’s LoTUS spouts can be processed on SN’s newly developed SPM 50 horizontal pouch-making machine.
The SPM 50 produces up to 4,200 pouches per hour and can continuously produce more than 30,000 spout pouches per eight-hour shift equating to an annual volume of up to 21 million pouches in three-shift operations.
The machine’s compact design allows for flexible placement within production facilities.
