In a strategic move to bolster its capabilities as a medical materials science expert, TekniPlex Healthcare has successfully acquired medical device manufacturer Seisa Medical, marking an expansion of its medical technology solutions platform.
This acquisition not only extends TekniPlex Healthcare's reach but also enhances its materials science and process technologies, particularly in the realm of minimally invasive and interventional therapy devices on a global scale.
Strategic addition to TekniPlex’s portfolio
Seisa, located in El Paso, Texas, US, operates across the entire medical product life cycle, offering services in design, development, component manufacturing, and final assembly.
With more than 2,000 employees spread across facilities in the US, Mexico, and Slovakia, Seisa's expertise aligns seamlessly with TekniPlex Healthcare's vision for comprehensive medical materials science solutions.
This acquisition marks TekniPlex's 21st in the past decade, reinforcing its strategic approach to business growth through transformative acquisitions and strategic expansions.
Elevating TekniPlex’s position in the medical materials science space
“This acquisition elevates TekniPlex Healthcare into a full-fledged contract development manufacturing organisation in the medical materials science space,” said Chris Qualters, CEO of TekniPlex Healthcare, in a statement.
“Combining Seisa’s strengths with ours allows us to more comprehensively engage with customers to develop engineered materials, codesign components and assemblies, and provide sterile barrier products, among other categories,” Qualters added.
Julio Chiu, Seisa founder and CEO, highlighted the shared commitment to delivering solutions for challenging medical applications.
“In TekniPlex Healthcare, we’ve found a partner that shares our longstanding commitment to delivering solutions that excel in challenging medical applications - ones that help save lives and improve patient outcomes.
