Packaging services provider TransPak has opened its new facility in the Netherlands, expanding its operations in Europe.
The facility is strategically located to cater to the growing technology sector in Veldhoven, a known hub for semiconductor innovation.
The 5,100m² facility aims to deliver specialised packaging, logistics and warehousing solutions, emphasising the semiconductor industry, to TransPak’s European customers.
With the region experiencing rapid growth, TransPak's presence will provide critical support to its European client base.
TransPak Netherlands general manager Dion Dekkers said: "With our strategic expansion into the Netherlands, we're excited to bring TransPak's advanced capabilities closer to our customers in Europe."
"Our expansion strategy has always been customer-driven, focusing on opening facilities in locations that best serve our clients' evolving needs. This new facility reflects that mission, positioning us to offer our European clients even faster and more customised solutions."
Comprising a team of 15 professionals, the TransPak Netherlands facility is equipped to offer a comprehensive suite of services. These include cleanroom packaging to meet high cleanliness standards, various protective packaging options, custom crating, and extensive logistics and warehousing solutions for streamlined supply chains.
The facility also provides design services to create customised packaging solutions tailored to client needs.
Escalating Red Sea conflicts are disrupting global shipping and impacting supply chains. Shipping activity via the Suez Canal has dropped 20% since October 2023.
Many vessels are rerouting via the Cape of Good Hope, adding 14 to 25 days per trip, which is raising costs by up to $1m per journey and increasing carbon emissions.
The Suez Canal is vital for global trade, handling 12% of trade and 30% of containers. Industries such as semiconductors and aerospace depend on the Suez Canal's efficiency. Logistics partners such as TransPak are expected to mitigate the impacts of disruptions with tailored solutions.
