TricorBraun, an American designer and distributor of rigid packaging, has recently acquired Plas-Pak WA, a plastic packaging distributor and manufacturer based in Perth, Western Australia (WA).

This strategic move aims to extend TricorBraun's reach in the Australian market to WA.

Plas-Pak WA, known for its expansive range of plastic packaging components, caters to various industries in Australia and New Zealand.

These include the food, beverage, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, agriculture, chemical, and industrial sectors.

With a strong emphasis on innovation and sustainable products over the last four decades, Plas-Pak WA has established itself as a reputable player in the plastic packaging industry.

Building on a legacy of customer service

Andrew Allsop, managing director of TricorBraun ANZ, highlighted Plas-Pak WA's exceptional reputation for innovation and sustainability.

The acquisition is expected to enhance customer service commitments in WA and provide expanded services to existing clients.

Plas-Pak WA's team, including commercial and operations advisor Stephen Kiss, expressed enthusiasm about joining TricorBraun, emphasising a shared commitment to customer service and product quality.

The move is seen as an opportunity for continued growth with the support, resources, and investments from TricorBraun.

Seamless transition for Plas-Pak WA team

All members of the Plas-Pak WA team will continue their roles under the TricorBraun umbrella, working from their existing Malaga, Perth location.

The transition is effective immediately, with Plas-Pak WA now operating as Plas-Pak WA, a TricorBraun company.

TricorBraun had previously established its presence in the region through the acquisitions of Cormack Packaging in 2021 and PB Packaging in 2022.

TricorBraun's acquisition of Plas-Pak WA marks another step in the company's global expansion strategy, solidifying its position as a leading player in the packaging industry.

The move reflects a commitment to delivering enhanced services and diverse product offerings to customers in WA and beyond.

Non-Alcoholic Beverages Packaging Industry Dynamics

In 2022, the soft drinks sector held the largest non-alcoholic beverages packaging market share, while the hot drinks sector is forecasted to register the fastest growth during 2022–27. Rigid plastics are usually a preferred choice in the non-alcoholic beverages industry because of their portability, convenience, and lightweight nature that facilitate on-the-go consumption.
