TriMas Packaging, a division of TriMas, has inaugurated a new automated manufacturing facility spanning 225,000ft² in Haining, China.
This development merges two former manufacturing sites in Hangzhou and Haining into a singular, technologically advanced facility.
The initiative aims to enhance service for TriMas customers throughout China and the broader Asian markets.
The Haining facility is outfitted with advanced injection moulding and assembly capabilities, as well as the integration of autonomous robots such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
The site also features robotic auto palletising and a specialised warehouse management system.
These technological advancements are designed to optimise material handling, cut labour costs, mitigate safety hazards, and align with the company's commitment to sustainability through energy-efficient operations and waste minimisation.
TriMas president and CEO Thomas Amato said: “We are excited to introduce our new state-of-the-art facility in Haining, which reflects our commitment to operational excellence, innovation, sustainability and delivering high-quality packaging solutions for our customers.
“With this addition, we are proud to now have advanced flagship locations in the United States, Mexico, and China, strategically positioning us for continued growth across these key regions. We extend our thanks to our TriMas Packaging team who contributed to the successful launch of this cutting-edge facility in Haining.”
In addition to its technological advances, the facility houses a 100,000-level clean room and QS certification.
The Haining manufacturing facility's product line includes dispensing and airless lotion pumps, caps, and closures, catering to the burgeoning online retail sector.
TriMas Packaging offers brands such as Rieke, Affaba & Ferrari, Rapak, Taplast, Plastic Srl, and Aarts Packaging, providing a wide range of dispensing, closure, and flexible packaging solutions.
The company employs approximately 2,200 staff members across 26 global locations.
