Tru Earth, a B Corp-certified household cleaning products company, has partnered with Germany-based CleanHub to combat plastic pollution.
Through this collaboration, a portion of Tru Earth's laundry eco-strip sales this month will be dedicated to recovering 33,000lb of plastic waste.
The partners will focus on preventing plastic from entering the environment by establishing waste-collection systems in coastal communities and creating jobs in the process.
Together with Tru Earth's existing partners, including Ocean Wise, the partners aim to prevent oceanic plastic pollution.
Tru Earth CEO Brad Liski said: "We're excited to partner with an organisation that shares a proactive approach to plastic pollution, which is to prevent it from entering the environment in the first place. There's a perfect synergy between our two organisations, so joining forces with CleanHub was a natural step and we're eager to accelerate our action in fighting the global plastic waste crisis."
CleanHub, a company providing scalable solutions to plastic pollution, works with local waste organisations to collect and sort plastic for safe processing.
It has so far recovered more than four million pounds of ocean-bound plastic worldwide while creating dignified jobs in countries such as India and Indonesia.
CleanHub co-founder and CEO Joel Tasche said: "It is incredibly inspiring to see Tru Earth expand its commitment to protecting the planet and being part of the solution to the plastic crisis. I'm equally hopeful and excited about this partnership and its potential to encourage more companies to take action and consumers to support forward-thinking organisations like Tru Earth."
Tru Earth says it has saved more than 185 million plastic containers from landfills and oceans with its laundry eco-strips, which come in plastic-free, recyclable packaging.
