Injectable solutions and services provider West Pharmaceutical Services has introduced its Daikyo PLASCAP ready-to-use validated (RUV) closures in an updated nested format.

The PLASCAP closure is a polypropylene (PP) cap, free from metal, featuring an integrated stopper.

The one-step press-fit vial closure solution is available in RUV formats, compatible with vials featuring 13mm and 20mm crowns.

The new nested tub configuration accommodates the West 10ml nested CZ vials and various selected nested vials with a 20mm crown.

It represents the company’s latest product offering designed to meet the demands of advanced therapies, propelled by ongoing innovation in cell and gene therapy treatments.

The company noted that the product is available in various configurations at this year’s Pharmapack event in Paris, France.

West Pharmaceutical Services vice-president of strategic portfolio management Stacey Vaughan said: “West has been a leader in pharmaceutical packaging for over 100 years, and our containment solutions are used for the majority of gene and viral therapies in the market.

“The introduction of this new nested format for our PLASCAP closures addresses the complex challenges of containment for advanced therapy molecules while meeting increasing regulatory requirements of the market.”

West delivers approximately 43 billion components and devices to its customers every year. The company has more than 10,000 team members across 50 sites globally.

The company’s portfolio includes RUV stoppers, seals, and vials.
