PAC Machinery has unveiled the Rollbag R985 Tabletop Automatic Bagger, a new addition to its packaging equipment line designed to handle both paper and poly mailers.

The new technology aligns with the shifting regulations in the industry and supports businesses in transitioning from poly to paper packaging solutions.

Rollbag R985 is said to have been engineered to process poly bags up to 12in-wide and paper bags up to 11in-wide, eliminating the need for mechanical adjustments during changeovers.

The company explained that the bagger can create strong 8mm hermetic seals for poly bags up to 5mil thick and paper bags with a weight capacity of up to 75lb, making it suitable for robust applications such as e-commerce SLAM pack stations.

Part of PAC Machinery’s Flexible Sustainability series of solutions, the Rollbag R985 offers versatility in packaging options, allowing for a smooth switch between polyethylene and paper mailers.

The automatic bagger also incorporates advanced features such as vacuum grippers, a seal flattener, articulating bag support, and an integrated label printer applicator.

These components enable the product to serve various sectors, including mail order fulfilment, aerospace, medical devices, automotive, and pharmaceuticals.

With its compact design, the Rollbag R985 not only supports semi or fully automatic packaging processes but also helps companies align with environmental and regulatory objectives by streamlining operations and offering a sustainable packaging alternative.

PAC Machinery president Greg Berguig said: “As environmental responsibility and operational flexibility become increasingly critical, the Rollbag R985 enables businesses to adapt at their own pace.

“This revolutionary bagger supports sustainable practices today and prepares companies for the future, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.”

Earlier this month, PAC Machinery announced that it will launch its flexible, sustainable bagging technologies at the ProMat show in Chicago, US.
